What you´ll do
- Develop and lead your own scientific research project within the field of hair coloration, fiber-polymer interactions or pigment technology - from hypothesis to final thesis
- Design experimental plans and methodologies relevant to your research question, with guidance from senior scientists
- Conduct hands-on laboratory experiments using state‑of‑the‑art equipment and analytical methods, e.g. Raman, FTIR, microscopy, rheology, TOF‑SIMS
- Critically analyze and interpret your data, derive meaningful scientific insights and propose next steps for validation
- Document your findings thoroughly in a structured way for both your academic thesis and internal R&D reporting
- Present your progress in research meetings and discuss results with a multidisciplinary team, e.g. Formulation, Analytics, Material Science
- Explore innovative ideas and alternative solutions, contributing fresh scientific perspectives to ongoing innovation projects
- Prepare a final presentation of your thesis results to internal R&D stakeholders
What makes you a good fit
- Student, currently enrolled in a Master's program in chemistry, cosmetic science, material science, polymer science, chemical engineering or a closely related field
- First experience in laboratory techniques - analytical, physical or formulation‑related and prior experience with polymers, pigments or fibers is a plus
- Good spoken and written English language skills, German is beneficial but not mandatory
- Strong interest in experimental scientific work and enthusiasm for independent research
- Structured and scientific working style, capable of designing hypotheses, experiments and clear documentation
- Curiosity, proactivity and a solution-oriented mindset, enjoying hands-on experimentation
- Ability to work precisely and independently, while also collaborating closely within a diverse R&D team
- Strong communication skills, especially in presenting research findings to scientific and non‑scientific audiences
- Preferred starting date - August 2026
