Company History - Henkel in Middle East and Africa
Henkel started its business in Middle East and Africa in South Africa in 1964. Since then has been growing constantly. Today Henkel operates in Egypt, Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, GCC (The Gulf Area), Kenya, and South Africa.
1963
Henkel started its first Arfrican business operations in Turkey: Türk Henkel has been established at Şişli Bomonti in order to produce textile and leather chemicals.
1964:
Henkel started its first Arfrican business operations in South Africa.
1974:
Henkel started its business operations in Lebanon.
1976:
Henkel in Kenya started its business operations.
1992:
Opening of the business in Egypt.
1996:
Henkel started its business operations in Israel by acquiring the Soad company that has been in business since 1924.
1997:
Henkel Tunisia has been opened.
2000:
Henkel Algeria has been opened.
2003:
50/50 joint venture with Yordan Obegi in Syria which has been established in 1999.
2007:
Henkel Jordan was established in 2007, it is a partnership between "ACDICO" (Public share holding company established in 1973) and Henkel Germany.
